Create a Sense of Accomplishment

While I was ironing today I flashed on a statement a friend made to me weeks ago.  I noticed six cans of spray starch in a closet.  When I asked why she had so many cans of starch she stated she liked to iron.  It dawned on me today that a sense of accomplishment occurs when as you complete each item.

Could this feeling of lack be created by our delegating the areas we classify as menial, meaningless jobs to others.   Have we  forgotten how nice it feels when we use our hands and complete small tasks like cooking a meal, folding clothes, watering plants, or ironing our clothes.

Most of us will not create the next great American novel, paint like Van Gough, sing like Miley Cyrus or dance like Paula Abdul but we can find our own sense of accomplishment.  In simple tasks of life.

While I drink my tea I remind myself there is a sense of accomplishment in making my own breakfast, doing my own house work, along with writing my own blogs.  I hope you discover what gives you a sense of accomplishment.
